• Through the contact form: what your message is about (information, a first conversation or something else), your name, your email address, your question and, if you fill it in, your organisation.
• By email: whatever you put in your message, and your email address.

We do not ask for more than we need. Please do not include data about students in your message.

We use your data for two things:

1. to respond to your question and, if you want one, arrange a first conversation;
2. to prepare a proposal for you, if you want one.

If it becomes an assignment, we also use your data to carry out the work and for invoicing.

We do not send you a newsletter or advertising. We do not sell your data and do not pass it on to others, except to the companies below that help us run the website and email.

The law (the GDPR) lists a few reasons why a company may use personal data. For us these are:

• You ask us something. To respond and make a proposal, we need your data. In the law this is called taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
• We have an assignment with you. Then we need your data to do the work.
• The law requires it. Dutch tax law requires us to keep proposals and invoices for seven years.

• If it does not become an assignment: we keep your data for twelve months after our last contact. Then we delete it.
• If it does become an assignment: we keep the proposal, the agreement and the invoices for seven years. That is the Dutch tax retention obligation.

A few companies work for us and therefore have access to your data. We make agreements with them about how they handle it.

• Hosting: the website runs on our own server at Hostnet, in the Netherlands.
• Email: our email runs through Hostnet, in the Netherlands.
• Administration: if you become a client, we process your data for quotes and invoices in our accounts (Informer, a Dutch supplier).

Contact form: what you fill in on the contact form is sent to us by email. The message is then kept in our mailbox at Hostnet, in the Netherlands. We keep it for twelve months after our last contact, unless it becomes an assignment.

If you email us or fill in a form, your data stays in the Netherlands. We do not use services outside the European Union.

The site places no cookies that track you and does not measure your visit. What the site does and does not store in your browser is set out in our cookie statement.

The server keeps a log of visits, including your IP address. We use that log only to detect faults and misuse, and we keep it for fourteen days.

You may:

• ask which data we hold about you (access);
• ask us to correct mistakes (rectification);
• ask us to delete your data;
• object to the use of your data.

You may also ask us to stop using your data for a while (restriction), or to give you your data so you can take it elsewhere (portability).

Email your request to info@l-e-x.nl. We respond within one month. Sometimes we first ask you to show that it is really you. Data the law requires us to keep, such as invoices, cannot be deleted earlier.

Are you unhappy with how we handle your data? Tell us first, and we will look for a solution. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (opens in a new window), or with the data protection authority in the EU country where you live.
